Telecomunicacoes Brasileiras or Telebra the former state telecommunication of Brazil will start providing broadband Internet services to the citizens. Late in 1990’s the firm was sold to private investors; the government of Brazil was mulling to revive this due to the poor services offered by private companies.
Telebras will provide high speed broadband and private communications network to hospitals, schools and other public services. They would also participate in the National broadband programmme by the government.
Additionally Telebras will be providing support to the existing private telecommunication companies; also they will be providing broadband service to remote area where there is no access currently.
Revival of Telebras started after the instability of the private companies. Although Telebars was without operations formally but had a honor of million dollars in labor related liabilities.
